G'Day Sizzlers!
We have come a long way since the last Sizzler was sent out, so
far that we have the new version, HotDog Professional 7 ready to
roll out!
Due to some changes in our development area we have been able to
rapidly move forward and bring you HotDog Professional 7 a lot
quicker than we thought possible.
We also have strengthened our relationships with Crazy Ivan
Productions (Boomer) and Xara in order to bring you added
functionality and features.
Here are just some of the reasons you will want to upgrade from
version 6:
- Boomer and Xara MenuMaker are now resident products in HotDog Professional 7. Note that Xara MenuMaker normally retails for US$19 and Boomer for US$49.95.
- FlashWizard, insert flash files (.SWF) with ease.
- Cosmetic interface changes.
- Customizable Menus System.
- Image map wizard.
- SQL Query Builder, this wizard lets you construct sql queries with ease, just select, click, test and insert into your code.
- SQL Table wizard. this wizard generates the code for you to easily create tables within a sql database.

Save Money & Time by Learning CSS with HotDog!
Those who know me know how I value my cash and my time - here's
another tip how I've saved on both counts!
Budding Web designers may know that Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
are the favoured way to write web pages and many html tags are
becoming obsolete in favour of this much better way to write for
web sites. What surprised me was how easy it is to write with CSS
in mind. In other chat rooms 'helpful' people were telling me
just how difficult it was to learn and near-impossible to find
free tutorials that were easy to understand.
HotDog not only has a thorough CSS reference file but it also has
CSS tutorials too! You can find it by loading HotDog and clicking
on 'Help' and 'Cascading Style Sheets'. It gives an easy,
understandable and step-by-step method of showing you how to
write CSS. And if, like me, you have questions all you have to do
is go to the Sausage forums and ask there for help. I also found
searching through past questions the answers to many tips and
tricks web coding books don't show you. Quite simply, they give
real-world solutions to real web site problems.
Consequently, I discovered that I now write web sites much more
quickly and consisely and updating them is a breeze because CSS
does all the work. Debugging is a cinch too because HotDog
highlights the syntax for me to alert me to areas that I need to
debug. Because the help file and reference sheets are also part
of the same program checking out my tags and options is just a
click away.
Why not give HotDog a try and see how quickly it can work for
you?

HotDog Tip by Kevin Hannan
Creating a 'Close Window' Link / Box
This weeks tip is taken from a newcomer to Sausage Forums; thanks
to Damian who gave the answer.
Question:
"I have created a link in my website which opens in a separate
box. Does anyone know how to do a link at the bottom of the box
which would close it? i.e., if you click on the word "close" the
box closes."
Answer:
<a href="javascript:window.close();">Close Window</a>
